Campus Ministry

Midland is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.  With faith as one of our five core values, "We believe as a college of the Lutheran tradition that faith and learning are inexorably linked.  We believe that the exploration of faith and religion is an essential human endeavor."

Faith does not exclude academic rigor.  At Midland, we believe that God has called us to love Him with our all our heart, soul, and mind.  Thus, we can love God in our studies and by nurturing our heart and soul for Him.

We also believe that a vocation is more than a job or a career.  We believe that a vocation is a calling and a way to serve God and live out our Christian faith.  To nurture faith and learning Midland offers a variety of services and organizations.

Campus Worship

The following worship services are offered:

Tuesdays 11:10 a.m.  Contemporary Service at Clemmons Hall, second floor

Thursdays 11:10  a.m.  Eucharist Service at Rock of Christ Chapel, located in Sinai Lutheran Church just south of the dining hall.

Ministry Organizations

There are a variety of groups and organizations that also offer Christian fellowship, Bible Study, and prayer on campus.  They include: Campus Crusade for Christ, Christian Life Council, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Campus Pastor

The Rev. James Melang, Campus Pastor, oversees the campus ministry of the college and is available for students seeking spiritual counsel.
