The Midland Lutheran College Band, under the direction of Dr. Bill Hall, will help lead the congregation in uplifting song and praise as part of the morning services at Sinai Lutheran Church.

Set in the Brighton Beach section of Brooklyn, N.Y., in 1937, the coming-of-age comedy focuses on Eugene Morris Jerome, a Polish-Jewish teenager who experiences puberty, sexual awakening, and a search for identity as he tries to deal with his family.
DECEMBER
Dec. 5: Lessons and Carols 7 p.m. Clemmons Hall
The MLC Choir, Clef Dwellers, and instrumental ensembles will add a new twist to the traditional Lessons and Carols Service as we “travel around the world” to hear carols from different cultures. The service will include guest choirs and musicians, and a new dramatic element that will bring the Christmas story alive.

Every holiday season bustles with the sounds and stress of the season. SimpleGifts, a six-member ensemble led by award-winning musician Billy McLaughlin, has arranged acoustic instrumental and vocal music that harkens back to a quieter, simpler time.
With Celtic whistle, piano, acoustic guitar, violin and beautifully blended female voices, the ensemble finds its strengths in stirring arrangements that combine traditional folk music with more modern elements that both soothe and inspire listeners. March 13-21: Music on the Move – Making a Difference Gulf Coast MLC Choir Tour (Exact performance dates to be determined)
The MLC Choir and Clef Dwellers will travel to the Gulf Coast region of Galveston, where the devastating effects of Hurricane Ike are still being felt. The Choir will set out to “make a difference” as we share our gift of song and work with area churches to lend a hand to some of the still devastated areas.
March 26-27: Festival of the Arts
The MLC Choir will host high school show choirs, jazz choirs and madrigal groups in a competitive but friendly festival. This event will involve broadway performers and Hollywood professionals as judges and workshop leaders. Complete details

April 24: Alumni Days MLC Choir Concert 7:30 p.m. Sinai Lutheran Church (Alternate site – Clemmons Hall)
The MLC Choir and Clef Dwellers will perform the home concert from The “Music on the Move – Making a Difference Tour” to the gulf coast. There will be a special video presentation of our volunteer efforts to help restore the Galveston area from the effects of Hurricane Ike. An MLC Alumni Choir will also perform.
