Sladek Earns More Honors

Pitcher Kelly Sladek was named Hauff Mid-America Sports Softball Pitcher-of-the-Week for the third time this season and NAIA Pitcher of the Week for the second time in her career.

Sladek won both pitcher-of-the-week honors for the week of April 20-26. The junior from Cordova, Neb., posted a 6-0 record on the week and is in the midst of 33 1/3 scoreless innings of pitching. She also struck out 41 batters on the week.

She also won the Hauff Mid-America Sport honors for the weeks of April 13 and March 16.

Morningside outfielder Cara DeStigter was the Hauff Mid-America Sports Softball Player-of-the-Week. DeStigter, a senior from Dakota Dunes, South Dakota, posted a batting average of .750 as the Mustangs won the GPAC regular season championship and secured a NAIA National Tournament berth.
