THE CAMPAIGN

The Campaign is tiered with three goals – Heritage Goal, Faith Goal and Vision Goal. Under each goal you can see the programs that will benefit from your donation. This plan was developed to provide for both the shortterm needs and long-term vision of Midland Lutheran College. The more money we raise, the more we can accomplish.

Heritage Goal | $7 million

Academic Programs Support ($3 million)

Your investment in Academic Programs will strengthen the core of the College and expand our offerings to compete for quality students and faculty.

Funded Student Scholarships ($1 million)

We currently provide $8 million in unfunded aid to students who want to receive a Midland Lutheran education. This money comes directly from the College’s budget. Your gift to fund scholarships will help Midland and our students pay for an education. Below are some scholarships:

Current and Emerging Programs ($1 million)

Your gift will enhance current and emerging academic programs. Attracting non-traditional students and providing all students greater flexibility in earning their Midland degree will positively impact enrollment. Emerging programs include:

• iMpact Degree Completion Program

The iMpact program offers a f lexible class schedule for adult students seeking completion of their college degree. This program currently has many students enrolled and needs more funds for continued program expansion.

• Online Campus

Today’s higher learning institution must utilize the Internet to offer f lexibility and convenience to current and prospective students. We have invested in this area and more funding is needed for further growth.

• Master’s Programs – Accounting, Education, Nursing

The College has launched its first graduate program – the Master’s in Professional Accounting. With your help we will continue to expand graduate level courses in our other f lagship programs.

Administrative Software ($1 million)

Your financial support will enable greater efficiencies in the offices of the Registrar, Admissions, Development and Alumni Relations. The antiquated software system these offices are currently using limits their ability to collaborate effectively.

• A new software system will enable better storing, tracking, retrieving and sharing of information that will benefit Midland and its students, alumni and friends.

• New software will also support online learning, Midland Express services, self-service student options, assessment of student learning periodic program review system.

Endowment Expansion ($2 million)

A strong endowment will help to ensure the sustainability of our mission, expand program offerings, support our beautiful campus, remove budgetary constraints and add flexibility to new college initiatives.

Your pledge will support our faculty, current programs and new initiatives.

• Endowing faculty positions and chairs enables Midland to attract and retain the best faculty.

• Support to this endowment will provide resources so we can support and compensate faculty at a competitive level.

• Endowing scholarships ensures, in perpetuity, that qualified students from all walks of life can afford a Midland Lutheran education.
