National Center for Education Statistics
NCES gathers and presents data and analyses in reports on all aspects of education, including prekinderarten through postsecondary education, vocational and adult education, libraries, and international education conference papers.

Primary Search provides full text for more than 50 popular, magazines for elementary school research. All full text articles included in the data base are assigned a reading level indicator (Lexiles), and full text inormation dates as far back as 1990. This database is updated daily via EBSCOhost.
MAS Ultra-School Edition
Designed specifically for high school libraries, this database provides full text for over 500 popular general interest and current events publications with information dating back as far as 1975 for key magazines. MAS Ultra - School Edition also provides nearly 550 full text pamphlets, 150 full text reference books, nearly 100,000 biographies, 76,000 primary source documents, and an image collection of 116,000 photos, maps and flags. This data base is updated daily via EBSCOhost.

Available via the FirstSearch database, ArticleFirst provides citations from over 13,000 general academic and scholarly journals.
JSTOR
This full-text collection consists of 239 core research and society published journals in the humanities and social sciences. Other areas of interest are economics, history, political science, and sociology. Coverage varies from title to title beginning with the first published issue but often excluding the last 3 – 5 years. This is an excellent source of information on a wide range of academic disciplines were recent research is not required.
Newbery Medal Books
This award was established in 1922 by the American Library Association. A medal is presented annually to the author of the most distinguished contribution to American literature for children published in the United States in the preceding year. The recipient must be a citizen or resident of the United States.
Caldecott Medal
The Caldecott Medal was named in honor of nineteenth-century English illustrator Randolph Caldecott. It is awarded annually by the Association for Library Service to Children, a division of the American Library Association, to the artist of the most distinguished American picture book.
The Golden Sower Award
On top of the Nebraska State Capitol in Lincoln, stands a 19,000 pound bronze statue known as the Sower. He stands barefoot and with hat, sowing seeds in the most primitive manner. He is symbolic of the state of Nebraska as a major agricultural state. He is not merely sowing seeds of grain , but something much greater. He is the symbol of sowing the seeds of agriculture, life, hope and prosperity. The Sower was chosen as the symbol of the Nebraska children's choice literary award for similar reasons. Whether readers are seeking information or reading for pleasure, quality literature presented through the Nebraska Golden Sower Award program will enrich the lives of Nebvraska's children and sow seeds of the future.
