College Archives and Special Collections
The Midland Lutheran College Archive is located within Luther Library. The Archive contains items such as newspapers, yearbooks, catalogs, scrapbooks, and programs from Midland Lutheran College (1962- ). The Archive also contains material from the various academic institutions that came together to form Midland. These institutions include:
- Luther Academy (1883-1909) and Luther College (1909-1961), Wahoo, Nebraska
- Midland College, Atchison, Kansas (1887-1919) and Fremont, Nebraska (1919-1962)
- Fremont Normal School & Business College (1884-1889) and Fremont College & Business Institute (1900-1919), Fremont Nebraska
In addition the Archive contains some print material from the Western Theological Seminary, founded in Atchison, Kansas in 1893 and located in Fremont from 1919 through 1949, and the Central Theological Seminary, located in Fremont from 1949 through 1967. Seminary records, in particular, contain only limited genealogical information.
