Financial Aid
Because Midland has experienced professionals working hard to assist our students and their families with financial aid assistance, more than 92 percent of all full-time Midland students receive financial aid.
In general, Midland's program includes scholarships, Midland and federal government grants which do not have to be repaid, low interest loans and part-time employment.
Qualifying and Applying for Financial Aid
Some students may qualify for one type of financial aid and others may qualify for a combination of two or more programs. This "packaging" of financial assistance allows Midland to help a large number of students and to award aid suited to the student's individual needs.
There are two simple steps to follow to be sent a financial aid notification.
- First, apply and be accepted for admission.
- Second, to be consistent, we ask each family to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Click the banner below to apply online! MLC's Title IV Code is 002553.
- If you would prefer not to file online, you may download and print a FAFSA at http://fsa.ed.gov/fafsa/fafsa_options.html or call 800-4FED-AID to request that one be mailed to you.

To receive the widest range of financial assistance, applications should be made as early as possible, although there is no deadline as to when our students can receive financial aid. Award packages will be sent to students who have completed the aid process beginning on March 1.
Off and On-campus Employment
The Fremont community and surrounding areas have long been very supportive of Midland and offer Midland students numerous opportunities for part-time employment. An off-campus employment service is provided by the Career Development Center for the benefit of students who wish to find a part-time job away from campus. Students who demonstrate a financial need and a desire to work are eligible to use the Federal Work-Study program (FWS) to complete their financial aid packages with jobs on campus. Once all FCWSP eligible students have been given work assignments, other students who want to work may be considered for available employment in the dining hall, residence halls, library, administrative and faculty offices and maintenance. Typical work assignments range from three to 12 hours per week. Experience tells us that working enhances a student's organizational skills and allows the opportunity to contribute toward meeting college costs.
Payment Plans
Midland Lutheran College offers a variety of payment plans to help families meet their share of their college costs. These plans range from full payment at the beginning of each semester to a 10-month payment plan, with other options available. We will work closely with you and your family on the plan that best meets you needs. Further details on these options are available from the Financial Aid Office.
