Annual Giving

Annual Giving is an opportunity for alumni, friends, parents, faculty and staff of Midland Lutheran College to provide vital financial support to the College each year. When you make a financial gift to the Annual Fund, you are demonstrating your support of higher education and investing in the future of Midland Lutheran College.

Annual gifts can be designated to any of several current year projects or to the Annual Scholarship Fund, a fund that helps offset the $6 million awarded each year by the College in the form of student financial aid.

Annual Giving Opportunities

Current Giving Needs

Annual Scholarship Fund

The Annual Scholarship Fund is the cornerstone of the Annual Giving program at Midland. Through the Annual Scholarship Fund, all alumni can collectively demonstrate their support of the school by making an unrestricted annual gift. Each year the Annual Scholarship Fund provides the school with the resources needed to address its most pressing needs and to take advantage of new, unforeseen opportunities. The Annual Scholarship Fund builds Midland’s competitive edge by providing the resources necessary to enhance its infrastructure, to recruit students, to attract and hire the faculty, and to support Midland’s academic programs.

The Annual Scholarship Fund is the most effective way for our supporters to have an immediate impact upon the school. As Midland continues to celebrate its 125th anniversary, the school strives to build an annual giving program that will establish traditions for generations of future Midland students and alumni.

Midland Lutheran College Booster Club

Established officially in 1978, the MLC Booster Club is a community of orange-rallying Warrior fans dedicated to preserving Midland’s proud heritage of athletic achievement. Financial gifts to the Booster Club help provide funds for student athlete needs as well as a wide range of athletic initiatives. Membership Giving Levels are:

  • $50 Bronze
  • $100 Silver
  • $150 Gold
  • $250 Platinum
  • $500 Diamond

Midland Lutheran College Heritage Arboretum

An affiliate of the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum since 1996, the MLC Heritage Arboretum provides a setting of rest, reflection and research for the College as well as for the entire Fremont community.

There are several opportunities to give to the Heritage Arboretum this year. Gifts may be made to the Arboretum Endowment Fund, which helps support the ongoing needs of the Arboretum. Gifts may also be made to any of several beautification projects, including the creation of three new gardens, the landscaping of two new residence halls, and the planting of memorial trees. Finally, in-kind gifts that meet current needs of the Arboretum are also welcomed. Inquiries should be directed to the Development Office.

Bits of Flint

Bits of Flint is a literary publication of poems, short stories and artwork by current students of MLC. Everyone who makes a financial gift to this publication will receive a complementary copy of the publication.

Midland Women

Midland Women is one of MLC’s oldest support groups still active in the life of the College. Each year, the organization has provided gift support for a wide variety of projects, ranging from residence hall furnishings and musical instruments to a fog machine for Kimmel Theatre. Gifts may be given directly to the project or indirectly through the purchase of a membership.

Midland Women memberships are $15 dollars annually or $100 for Life Memberships. Memberships are a wonderful gift idea and may be given in honor of someone else. A portion of each membership fee is designated for the current year fundraising project. Nonmembers may also give directly to this year’s philanthropy project.
