Students stress the importance of academics

Midland students return to college
Students arrived on campus during the weekend and for the past few days upperclassmen have helped the freshman learn about the college and the community. Orientation helps students adjust to life on campus, and a service learning project helps them give back to the community, student leaders said.
Midland Lutheran named a top college for veterans
Midland Lutheran College has been named one of the nation’s top colleges for U.S. veterans by a leading veteran’s magazine. G.I. Jobs’ 2010 list of Military Friendly Schools honors the top 15 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools doing the most to embrace America’s veterans as students.

Midland to see changes in curriculum
Midland Lutheran's new curriculum is designed to let students to be co-creators of their education by allowing them to share their knowledge with classmates. There also will be a greater emphasis on using technology and going out into the community.
Midland students, professors travel to British Isles
A group of Midland Lutheran College students, professors and alumni will be spending the next several weeks getting a glimpse at the life of royalty. The group will be traveling Europe for an interterm class called Castles and Cathedrals of the British Isles.

Midland schedules Black History Banquet
The Black History Banquet at Midland Lutheran College in Fremont is back by popular demand. The event, presented for the first time last year, will be held Thursday at the Midland Event Center. It is being billed as a celebration of African American and Black history.
